City of Arts and Sciences and the Oceanographic
Calatrava’s most controversial work, with its detractors and defenders, leaves no one indifferent and has emerged, in a short time, as one of the main places to see in Valencia.Also the Oceanographic, representing the marine ecosystems of the different seas and oceans of the planet, is an educational and entertaining attraction suitable for the whole family. Undoubtedly, visiting the City of Arts and Sciences is one of the most entertaining things to do in Valencia.
Town Hall Square
Another of the most important and beautiful squares to see in Valencia is the Town Hall. It is less than five minutes walking distance from Plaza de la Virgen. First thing you see when you get to it is the large white facade of the Town Hall, headquarters of the City Council of Valencia.
The Town Hall was built between 1758 and 1763 in a mixture of styles ranging from the original neoclassical to the neo-baroque, passing through the Neo-Renaissance, used in its expansion.

Serrano’s tower
The towers form one of the symbols most striking in Valencia. It is one of the twelve gates that guarded the old Christian wall. Built in the late fourteenth century in Valencian Gothic style, its name come from its location.
This northwestern part of the Ciutat Vella used to be the natural entrance for visitors coming from the region of Los Serranos.
Plaza de la Virgen
I sit on the steps facing the beautiful Fuente del Turia and I am captivated by the three monumental buildings that overlook the Plaza de la Virgen in Valencia: the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Basilica of the Virgin of the Forsaken and the Generalitat Palace.
And it happens that, under the heat of the spring day, the Plaza de la Virgen sweats history.
Central Market
The market is a lively place, a feast for the senses. The best products of the Mediterranean Sea and the Valencian orchard are sold here every day. Many of the best restaurants in the city - such as the Riff or those of Ricard Camarena - acquire here the raw material of their dishes illuminated with Michelin stars. The building itself is a piece of art of the early twentieth century and outside it you will immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the terraces where people take the aperitif.
